Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional for the role of Deputy Manager – Purchase, based at Morbi. Who will be responsible for sourcing and procurement of key raw materials including clay, gypsum, bauxite, limestone, and quartz. The role involves vendor development, price negotiations, supply planning, and ensuring availability of materials while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials such as clay, gypsum, bauxite, limestone, quartz, and other related minerals.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, mine owners, transporters, and vendors.
* Conduct price negotiations and finalize commercial terms to achieve cost optimization.
* Ensure timely procurement and uninterrupted supply of raw materials for plant operations.
* Identify and develop alternate vendors and sourcing channels.
* Monitor market trends, raw material pricing, and availability to support strategic procurement decisions.
* Coordinate with production, quality, logistics, and finance teams for smooth operations.
* Ensure quality compliance of procured materials as per company standards.
* Handle purchase orders, contracts, vendor agreements, and documentation.
* Track inventory levels and maintain optimum stock availability.
* Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and compliance standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
* 7+ years of experience in procurement of minerals/raw materials.
* Strong understanding of sourcing and procurement processes in manufacturing industries.
* Experience in handling vendors related to clay, gypsum, bauxite, limestone, quartz, or similar raw materials.
* Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
* Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
* Good communication and coordination skills.
* Proficiency in ERP/SAP and MS Excel preferred.
