General Accountant
The General Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting operations, timely financial close activities, statutory compliance, tax administration, financial reporting, and audit coordination. The role supports financial integrity, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and business decision-making through effective accounting controls, analysis, and reporting.
Financial Accounting & Book Closure
• Manage and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Ensure accurate recording, classification, and reconciliation of financial transactions across all ledgers.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments required for period-end closing.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the General Ledger and supporting schedules.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and expense analysis to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
• Scrutinize ledgers and account balances to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Support management with financial insights, reports, and data-driven recommendations.
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
• Verify vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
• Process vendor payments within agreed timelines while ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
• Perform periodic vendor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Fixed Assets Accounting
• Maintain fixed asset records, capitalization schedules, depreciation calculations, and asset reconciliations.
Direct Taxation & Statutory Compliance
• Manage TDS-related activities including deduction, payment, return filing, and issuance of Form 16/16A.
• Support tax audit preparations and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
Audit Management
• Act as a key point of contact for internal, statutory, and tax audits.
• Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Process Improvement & Controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Drive automation initiatives within accounting and finance operations.

Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, taxation, audits, and book closure.
Strong understanding of IND AS, Companies Act, Income Tax Act, TDS compliance, and ERP systems.
