Role Purpose
Lead and manage end-to-end polishing operations to achieve superior surface finishing quality, optimal productivity, and cost efficiency while ensuring adherence to process standards and continuous improvement in polishing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Excellence
Manage end-to-end polishing line operations to achieve daily production targets aligned with quality benchmarks
Monitor and optimize KPIs such as gloss levels, surface finish, rejection rates, and output per shift.
Maximize machine utilization and reduce downtime through proactive monitoring and coordination with maintenance.
Quality Management
Ensure consistency in product finish (gloss, smoothness, dimensional accuracy)
Identify and reduce defects (scratches, waviness, dullness) through root cause analysis and corrective actions
Collaborate with QA/QC teams for continuous quality improvements.
Process Optimization
Drive initiatives to reduce wastage, rework, and consumable costs (abrasives, power, consumables)
Implement advanced polishing techniques and process improvements to enhance productivity.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S).
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and manage operators, supervisors, and shop-floor teams
Drive manpower planning, shift scheduling, and capability development.
Build a disciplined and performance-driven work culture.
Reporting & Analytics
Maintain accurate production MIS, logs, and KPI dashboards
Analyze performance trends and implement corrective actions.
Role Specifications
Experience: 8–12 years in ceramic/tile polishing operations
Education: Diploma / B.Tech (Mechanical / Ceramics)
Industry: Tiles / Ceramics Manufacturing
Tools: ERP/MIS systems, process monitoring tools
Desired Candidate Profile
Strong expertise in polishing processes, abrasives, and finishing technologies.
Proven track record in improving productivity and reducing rejection rates.
Strong team handling and shop-floor leadership skills.
