Deputy Manager – Business Development
Role Purpose
Drive business growth and demand generation by building a strong ecosystem of architects, designers, institutional clients, and key influencers, while identifying and converting market opportunities into sustainable revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Generation
Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across institutional, corporate, and project segments.
Drive specification-based selling by securing product approvals with architects, consultants, and key decision-makers.
Achieve assigned revenue and pipeline targets through structured lead generation and conversion tracking.
Expand wallet share from existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling initiatives.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, interior designers, government bodies, and institutional clients.
Develop a robust influencer network to drive product specifications in ongoing and upcoming projects.
Partner with channel teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and customer satisfaction.
Product Promotion & Brand Building
Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and knowledge sessions to drive brand preference.
Promote newly launched products and solutions through targeted engagement strategies.
Ensure regular engagement with stakeholders via events, seminars, and industry forums.
Commercial & Proposal Management
Prepare competitive and commercially viable quotations aligned with client needs and company pricing guidelines.
Negotiate commercial terms while maintaining profitability and strategic positioning.
Track project lifecycle from enquiry to closure, ensuring timely follow-ups and conversions.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and market developments to identify growth opportunities.
Maintain and update a structured CRM/database of clients, prospects, and projects.
Provide actionable insights to sales and marketing teams for strategic decision-making.
Marketing Execution
Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute targeted campaigns, product launches, and promotional activities.
Ensure effective implementation and tracking of campaigns from ideation to execution.
Measure campaign effectiveness and optimize engagement strategies.

Qualification
MBA in Marketing / Business Management preferred; Graduation with relevant industry experience considered
Experience
8+ years of experience in Business Development, preferably in Building Materials, Construction, Ceramics, Paints, or related industries
Reporting
Typically reports to Zonal / Regional Sales or BD Head
