Lead end-to-end product development and technical support for construction chemical products, from concept to commercialization, ensuring innovation, performance optimization, and customer satisfaction. The role also focuses on resolving field issues and driving continuous product improvement through data-driven insights.
Lead end-to-end new product development (NPD) lifecycle—from concept, formulation, validation, to commercialization
Design and develop innovative formulations for:
Concrete admixtures
Waterproofing systems (coatings, membranes, integral solutions)
Tile adhesives & grouts
Repair and rehabilitation materials
Conduct raw material research and evaluation to enhance product performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness
Execute lab trials, pilot batches, and plant scale-ups, ensuring smooth technology transfer to manufacturing
Collaborate with procurement to identify, evaluate, and validate alternative raw materials for cost optimization and supply risk mitigation
Ensure developed products meet performance standards, regulatory compliance, and cost targets
Investigate and resolve customer complaints and field performance issues through structured root cause analysis
Collaborate with QA/QC, production, and site/application teams to diagnose issues and implement solutions
Develop and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to improve product reliability and consistency
Provide technical support, site troubleshooting, and application training to customers, contractors, and applicators
Track and analyze customer complaints, product performance data, and field feedback trends
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in formulations, processes, and application methods
Support sales and marketing teams with technical presentations, product positioning, and specification inputs
Maintain proper documentation of formulations, test results, and compliance records
Education: B.Tech / M.Tech (Chemical / Polymer / Civil / Materials Science)
Experience: 6–12 years in R&D / product development within construction chemicals, waterproofing, coatings, or allied industries
Domain Knowledge: Strong expertise in construction material chemistry and application technologies
Travel: Willingness to travel for site visits and technical support
Proven hands-on experience in formulation development and commercialization of construction chemical products
Strong exposure to waterproofing systems, admixtures, adhesives, and repair materials
Demonstrated experience in handling customer complaints, field investigations, and technical troubleshooting
Deep understanding of raw material chemistry (polymers, binders, additives, cementitious systems)
Experience in plant scale-up, process optimization, and product validation
Ability to balance technical performance with cost and manufacturability considerations
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Formulation chemistry (cementitious, polymer-modified, PU, epoxy systems)
Material characterization and testing (adhesion, tensile strength, permeability, durability)
Knowledge of IS / ASTM / EN standards relevant to construction chemicals
Root cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA)
Lab-to-plant scale-up and process validation
New Product Development (NPD) and stage-gate processes
